My Pink Shoelace

He’s a popular contemporary Japanese writer and translator. I get to know this name just last Wednesday while I was waiting for D, Mitchy and Aisat in Ayala. I spent an ample time at National Bookstore browsing through books and on one aisle I saw this name for he has lots of books on display. Sat down on the floor (not minding what others think) and began reading through the back covers of the various titles on display and am caught.

One of my many addictions is a good book. Its been awhile since I’ve laid my hands on a good book not for lack of trying but its more of lack of finding the time to squeeze it in. Mitchy said to me once she’ll never get me a pink skateboard, I don’t need one she said. So she said she’ll get me a book and just last Wednesday over lunch I told her, if you’re getting me a book then get me one of his works.

I look forward to reading his works, they’re enchanting from what I can tell based on what I’ve read on the back covers.

The nature of our work makes us more prone to wearing glasses. When I started getting headaches and my sight started to blur I went to see my doctor right away. I didn’t like it at first because I thought it wasn’t cool but I made a great discovery, Zenni Optical was on FOX news! Isn’ t that awesome? They offer great eyeglasses for less and  I’m not surprised that a number of shops are offering Variable Dimension Frames From Zenni, hehehe can’t wait to get mine in the mail and I won’t be so surprised if I’d be seeing more of Zenni on Fox.

Finally my rest day!! Its been a dragging week … well I was kinda busy with the Cantonese All Soul’s Celebration and now am still not enrolled for the upcoming second semester, Jen’s done and I need to get this done hopefully by next week. I went to school earlier and I’ve plotted my subjects if this schedule gets approved, I’ll be taking 12 units this coming semester and hopefully my comprehensive exam by Marc. Crossing my fingers for luck.

Fancy ain’t ait? Ever since I was 6 or was it 7 and since then  I’ve always been fascinated with diamond jewellery. It started with a movie we watched where one of the ladies on the film was given by his beau a present and it was complete set, ring, a pair of earrings, a brooch and a necklace all in diamond. The look on her face was ecstatic and it was then I realize that women love diamonds.

My next encounter with this beautiful and elegant stone was when I was in the 6th grade. One of mom’s fancy friends the husband of which is a sea man sold Diamond Chokers purchased in Italy, she’s selling it at a 10% off than the price here in the city and she showed my mom once the collection she’s got available to sale. Being the practical woman my mom was she just smiled and said she doesn’t need any of those fancy jewels, her priority according to her is to get me to finish school and be successful someday. And she got the dream right.

Diamond engagement rings, that’s what consumed my entire afternoon the other day accompanying a college friend who’s getting married next month. Oh well he hasnt really proposed yet so he dragged me along all over town to look for that perfect ring for his girlfriend. Lucky her … we bought the nicest one we could find (nicest to my standard that is) and not a cheap one mind you. He said he doesn’t care about the price … she’s well worth it. Now that made me teary-eyed, will I ever find a man like that??? Who’ll say to a friend and am well worth it?

I’ve been dying to buy one of those computer tables on display in one of the office furniture shop in the city. My back constantly from my position when working on the computer, my swivel chair from my desktop days is stored somewhere in the house as I’ve sort of dumped it since I sold my desktop … lol but I need to re-establish my computer habits if I wanna end this pain.

When Judai lost tremendous weight it shocked people worldwide, I mean she was not really big but more on the chubby side but now after inculcating what they call South Beach Diet she has lost weight and now looks super stunning ang not to mention sexy. Lol and envy from both A and I. Maybe I should try it … maybe not. Oh well, we’ll see.

It’s Mitchy’s birthday!!! Was surprised when she dropped by my station and said dodong was inviting for lunch. I was like … uhmmm did I hear you right? lol since I was on a call she emailed me and yeah apparently she has blackmailed dodong into buying us lunch sort of like a late celebration for his birthday last 19th. So we were there at Dessert Factory (moi, Mitchy, Aisat, D and Apple), too bad we didnt have photos lol no one ever bothered to think of taking some shots. Hehehe It was nice its been a awhile since the four of us sat down together … different work scheds, different work loads, lets just say everybody’s been busy.

Talk was flowing and I cannot believe just how many issues there are on the production floor. Lol … Tosha guys … love the food but most of all I love the company

Looking at IM, Mitch’s shoutout was … Christmas is just around the corner … and I said hell yah, a couple more months and its December, heck the wallpaper on our workstation computers screams of the upcoming company christmas party. Am not sure what give aways we’ll be getting this year wont be disappointed if we won’t be getting a bag of goods but one of those fancy corporate holiday cards will do. Lets just say a keepsake.

So I was doing my rounds since its my rest day from work and I came across Continental Fairy’s home and the meme she’s done caught my attention. Lol I love memes so I asked her if I can grab it, she said sure go ahead. Weeeee so here are the rules: each blogger’s gotta share 7 personal snipetts and then pass on the tag to others. Easy eh?

– First is … well my friends at work already know this but here it goes like Ria am a coffee addict too. lol I love spending ample time at Starbucks or if am at home I have this mug that holds 2 cups of regular sized coffee.

– Second : Am this addicted to blogging. Its like my stress reliever after all the b*llsh*t at work, the temptations at the gym (lol) and the rigors of grad school. It’s also where I’ve met awesome people round the globe.

Third: I’d swoon if someone ever gives me one of these … lol am not a fan of flowers but this one is special, am a sucker for everything that’s pink so give me one of these and I’ll be forever grateful. (Why did I ever let that out??? lol)

– Fourth: Am addicted to music, if am not at work you’ll see me with my earphones on whenever am alone at the gym, on the streets, at the mall, at home … my notebook’s constantly playing music when am at home. A friend used to call it my bubble zone as often times I prefer it than the company of humans. Yikes!!! there you go.

– Fifth: Am a frustrated skateboarder. To the point that I spent 3 hours every thursday and friday (midnight to 2 or 3 AM) on the streets outside my house to practice when no ones watching. (Pretty embarassing eh?) Since there are no vehicles cruising by I have the streets all to myself.

– Sixth: Am very fickle-minded. Yeah you got that right … I change my mind at the drop of a hat lol … none of my notebooks ever lasted as long as 6 mos … I tire of things easily but most of all what I said an hour ago might not be true the next day. Though I usually keep my promises but on the whole I change my mind every so often.

– Seventh: Sunset, Beach and Travel – I love to travel … people at work can attest to that … am constantly on leave, that I think am already banned lol. Oh well … there you go. Seven things I never thought I’d spill out.  Am passing this tag onto these beautiful people :

Opened to a mail account loaded with junk mails from offers to join dating sites to winning the lottery in UK and Germany (are they for real?) to getting a new credit card approved. *sigh* and I now I just opened an email offering me free credit report on all my credit cards and loans from various lending companies (as if I have any existing loan) in one annual report.  I dont really spend much time on these emails usually all I’d do is check the select all box and delete all the emails on my junk mail. But this email I happen to open just for the heck of opening and see what is inside. So the email contained the company letterhead, the services they offer which includes a 3 in 1 free credit report from three major credit bureaus on your desktop, they also offer a credit score and debt analysis to be delivered on your desktop in just a matter of seconds after filling out the application form. What am curious about though is if this service is available worldwide, I mean lets face it the way I see things these emails are either from the US or are targeted to US residents. Cause if its availabe worldwide I have a couple of friends who could certainly benefit from it. God know these people need tips and all the help they can get to improve credit standing and financial status as a whole.

Momie Alvie’s little one would turn 1 year this October 26 and me and the Benita are invited amongst other friends to celebrate it. Now am not sure what to bring … I mean would the little one appreciate toys? Like broom brooms or toy guns? Or would toy guns be too violent for him? *sigh* I have to asked Benita on what he thinks … but while I was online doing my bloghopping rounds I come across selling baby stuff like baby bedding like that on the left and I find it cute. Would that be suitable? Or should I ask Momie Alvie first?

This credit card company who provided me my very first card just gave me a second one after one year of being according to them a good payor.  Now this second credit card they gave me has the same credit limit as my current one … scary. I haven’t used the second one yet and I have no intention of doing so … I placed it somewhere I don’t remember lol. I’ve known quite a lot of people at work who are stumped with debts, with 5 to 6 credit cards all maxed out to debts with various debt companies. Its a wonder they can still afford to dine at fancy restaurants. Take for instance this gal I met couple of years back, when we eat somewhere just for the heck of going out … she’d always pay using her plastic. Its like everything is done using the plastic which is scary coz she’ll never be debt free with what she’s doing. From groceries to shoes to eat outs she’s plastic dependent. *sigh* Then I know of another gal who basically worked just to pay her plastics, like every pay day there’s just about a thousand thats left of her pay after paying her bills and thats not even all of them. Imagine 3 cards all mazed out … with a credit limit of 75K each plus additional loans from banks and lending companies. Wouldn’t that scare you? Am not the world’s perfect and debt free person but my finances are more than A OK. I have bills to pay and I’ve managed to meet them on time, they’re not suffocating me yet but with these people I know … am not sure if they’re even able to sleep peacefully knowing they owe a lot of companies huge amounts of money. Good if they’re in the states where there are various companies that offer debt consolidation programs to help you pay off your bills in a timely manner … but these companies don’t exist in PI so creditors are left on their own.

Seems like a lot of my friends both from work and from school are celebrating their birthdays this month. Checked on my calendar and am a bit sad … quite a lot of people to buy gifts for … huhuhuh … oh well its just once a year so I’ll be gift hunting this coming Thursday.

Had a call earlier from a kid (she sounded like a 10 year old kid to me), she was having problems with a game her momma bought for her. It has been a usual process for us to collect the contacts details and when I asked her for her phone number she said, give me a sec. Then I heard her on the phone … mommy, mommy whats our phone number? then she get back at me and repeated what her mommy said. It didnt have the area code … heheh when I asked her she said I don’t know, my mommy didn’t know too. It was really cute … I mean she sounded real cute good thing her mom took over and gave me the area code and we proceeded with the technical details of her issue. Had she not took over I would have been forced to open up google and search area codes based on her zip code … *sigh* nice job eh?

Am stuck with several papers due for submission tomorrow and I’ve only finished one. Huhuhuhu … this means no sleep for me tonight. Anyways because I love to procrastinate instead of working my brains out I opened up safari and started my bloghopping routine. Having been settled in California, this friend of mine since kindergarten had mentioned once that she’s getting her share of anonymous prank caller who’d give her a ring every morning. Since its pretty annoying on her part she’s done a bit of searching on google on Phone Number Lookup and was given a site where she can search for the number appearing on her caller ID and found out her prank caller is from a different state. Whew!!! What could this person possibly want?

During work nights there are these callers who at times doesnt seem to know what their zip codes are, kinda silly if you come to think of it. How can you not know what your zip code is when your living in that area? An exception can be given probably if you’ve just moved in, some of these callers though cant give their zip codes at the top of their head. The same thing goes with area codes, when asked for their phone numbers they sometimes fail to give the area code that agents like me would be force to open up IE and perform an Area Code Search. *sigh*

In the neighborhood there are loads of cats on the loose, some of them are thin and malnourished others who have families who took care of them are fine and healthy looking. But even with these healthy looking cat, you’ll never know cause just like dogs there are fleas found cats, thats why veterinarians would always suggest as part of taking care of these lovely felines that owners should have some sort of flea control for cats.

*sigh* All these books I found online and unfortunately they’re all in Amazon, my problem is although they ship to PI but the rate is gonna be waaaayyy to expensive. Huhuhu

Prank callers, thats what we call them. At work there’s this man who doesnt seem to have anything else better to do that he’d keep on calling our line and would say harsh things to anyone. We didnt have a choice but to drop off the call, this also happens to regular consumers … the phone would ring with someone bogus on the other line telling you, you’ve won and that you need to do this and that. Well if you’re in the States and something like this happens to you, then better visit www.reportphonenumbers.com for they list down bogus numbers which real people reported.

Momie Cherry invited me for a weekend in Kuala Lumpur next month, I readily accepted seeing that the dates she proposed fall on my rest days. As was my experience with overseas trips, they last long and can get very uncomfortable. Imagine sitting on the plane with little room for your legs for hours on end? Last time I flew out of the country off to BKK, the flight was an excruciating 4 hours nonstop and I never had for once the chance to stretch my legs which according to a source could be dangerous as it could lead to DVT or Deep Vein Thrombosis (I’ll research more on that later) anyways what reassuring though is thats there’s a way to prevent this through the use of Travel Socks , which would help improve blood circulation on your legs despite being confined during the duration of the travel. I think I’ll get a pair seeing am off somewhere again next month.

This is what I intend to buy for Jenny, she turned eight last Sunday and I have not given any present aside from the cake and the ice cream. Ain’t it cute? Heheh a pink and brown hoodie for girls, run across this item while I was doing my usual online “window shopping” this is part of the kids clothing roca wear collection. They have clothing for girls and boys of various ages, the site also has items for men and women … might as well browse for jeans and blouses for women, who knows I might something pink and cute for myself and for two of my friends whose birthdays are fast approaching.

Looks to me like colorful cookie chips!!! lol … we’ll they’re chips alright in assorted colors needed in a game called poker. Was acquainted with this game because a colleague is notoriously known for playing them online. Has seen him bring poker books at work reading them in between calls and I think they’re all strategies helping him become a better player. He explained it to me once how the game works and it didn’t really sink in, hehehe hard for me to understand it when I don’t even know the basics. Anyhow I thought all thats needed is a table and these chips but was surprised to find out that there are a variety of Poker Products available online. From cards, to chips to shufflers and many more.
