My Pink Shoelace

I was silent the entire time or shall I say muted myself to oblivion. They didn’t arrive on time which under normal circumstances would have been okay but given my current state of mind the slightest things are always exaggerated. I think I’ve manage to alienate these people further by my behavior last night but waiting for close to an hour for one person and then for over an hour for another was just beyond my limit knowing fully well that I still have work at 2:30 AM.

It made me feel so left out as what seemed like half of the conversation revolved around people only I seem to not know and though I was listening I just don’t have anything to say. Am sorry but am just tired of pretending to be okay when am not and should these alienate the people around me, then so be it.

For this week’s edition of Pink Friday, am posting a pink Hello Kitty mouse the image below is not the image of my actual mouse but is the same style, color and design. Bought it at a gift shop here full of pink Hello Kitty items.

During the team lunch yesterday there was a time during the conversation where we talked about being godmothers and godfathers. I jokingly whined that it kinda sucks when your a godparent and you have what, 10 godchildren, because you’ll be expected to remember all their birthdays and be ready with gifts during birthdays and Christmas.

Someone said, I forgot who, that it should not be a problem as there are affordable toys out there that we can use as gifts. Question is what happens when they grow up and toys would no longer be an option?

I was amazed when Windmill decided to include me with this award. Thanks much, appreciate it. God knows writing/blogging is my solitary outlet.

Got so much going on inside my head keeping track of them mentally is a pain. *sigh*

- Finish school (Grad School is a pain!)

- Go back to the gym (grrr… hiatus mode since the holidays)

- Finish my TESOL Online Course (this is way overdue)

- Start my Scrapbooking Class Session 2 (or maybe I should retake lesson 1, can’t remember what was it all about)

- Mail, mail and mail. *sigh* Go to the local post office and mail off my pending FB’s, postcards and scrapbooks.

- Finish reading : Memories of My Melancholy Whores (Can’t believe Momie Lai’s done already! Grrr….)

- Sort my Sweet Valley books … or shall I say fix my messed up room.

- Buy an additional RAM for my notebook.

- Buy a new *pink* mouse for the Pink Lenovo (the current one is busted).

- Buy a notebook cooler for my Pink baby.

- Buy UPS.

- Sort my music library, per artist and per album on iTunes and on Windows Media Player.

- Plan the trip to Malapascua  with Mitchy and Doi Doi.

- Prepare for the trip to Hong Kong and Macau (don’t want to pack at the last minute this time).

- Buy tickets for Cebu-Manila-Cebu route.

- Watch out for cheap fares for Cebu-Dumaguete-Cebu route for March 29 to April 2.

- Visit mom.

- Change songs in my ipod.

- Last but not the least … fall in love.

Couple years back it never crossed my mind that I’d be able to make money blogging. It sounded like a very distant and a remote possibility. But thanks to Lex who kept on encouraging me to try it out, here I am a year after glad to have taken the chance and get out of my comfort zone and start writing about things that interest me and about the things that tick me off. A lot of companies out there search to expand their customer base and are always on the look out on how to achieve that. Marketing is the key, how to market their products and services to the masses. That’s were promotions, coupon codes, discount vouchers come in, in the world of online shopping it’s not a wonder why people are getting a lot of what they consider spam/junk emails with advertisements from various companies. That’s one of the company’s way to get to the consumers … electronic advertising.

Though I don’t find this quite successful because if there are consumers out there like me who just readily empty out the bulk folder without opening a single email what good would that email advertisement do? So now a lot of companies opted for blog advertising, seeing the growing number of people with online presence and how each has a certain base of readership.

I was looking for this book in all three major book stores here in my area (Powerbooks, National Bookstore, Fullybooked) but couldn’t find it. We started at Fullybooked (I saw the title there once but since I didn’t have extra monies then, didn’t bring my plastics either) so I let it pass taking a mental note of buying it next time I come visit. When we (Lovely and I) visited the shop back, it was no longer there. So I asked the ever helpful attendants and when I voiced out the title of the book not only where heads of other shoppers turned my way, the attendant also looked stunned.

Me: Can you help me locate a book?

Him: What’s the title ma’am?

Me: Secret Diary of a Call Girl by Belle de Jour

Him: *** muted … and looked stupid***

Me: Do I have to repeat the title?

Him: No, I got it let me check on the system.

By then heads were looking my way, a smirk from an old lady who apparently was too conservative to ever cope with the idea that there’s a published writing about a call girl’s diary. So off he went over to the cashier’s area where the pc’s located and together with the other attendants searched for it with sneaking glances at me who by then was browsing through books in the nearest section. I approached the cashier’s area and was informed that there’s one title remaining, so he said he’d go get it for me. Alrighty … but he came back empty handed.

Him: Ma’am, am sorry but that one last copy is already sold.

Me: I see, apparently someone else other than me wanted to shift to a different profession.

(I love the way the old lady’s eyes bulge with shock and indignation and the smile I got from cute guy browsing through cookbooks).

Lovely and I left the store and headed to Powerbooks and National Bookstore, I got similar reactions and I expected it. Heck, who would have thought Miss Goody Two Shoes would wanna read a book like that eh?

For this weeks Pink Friday, am posting the pink address book Doi got me from MV Doulos. She knows am addicted to pink and that every time she sees she remembers me. Weeeeeeee thanks Doooiiii … appreciate it.

When I woke up to prepare for work Tuesday evening, I had a gut feeling I’d be sick the next day. Well I was and still am sick, colds … grrr. Its that feeling of being so stuffed that talking and breathing is difficult and when your throat is so parched you had to drink water every now and then. The entire shift I was miserable … Doi accompanied me to the quack, we waited for like 30 minutes and I fell asleep on my seat. The quack who took a look at me said my sinusitis has gone from bad to worst and that its complicating with my asthma. What the??!!! Is there any cure to this? He said … no that’s inherent in your body system. All you can do is rest, take these meds and avoid being stressed out. lol As if I can help it.

So I was absent from school and work … am not sure what’ll happen since I didn’t call in. My sleep was deep and peaceful I don’t fee like talking to anybody telling them am sick. Oh well … we’ll see.

A friend of mine mentioned once that since she was a complete hopeless romantic (just like me) she dreams of a romantic vacations plotted or shall I say planned as a surprise for her by her beau. A dinner perhaps on Eiffel Tower, or weekend getaway in Venice, that would be superb not to mention freaking expensive. Another gal expressed her desire of having one of those celebrated caribbean weddings she has read about in various travel websites and magazines. When asked what I want? I shrugged and said that I’ve long since heard of variousjamaica all inclusive resortwherein living the dream of river rafting, waterfall climbing or rocking the day away in a hammock under a palm tree doesn’t necessarily mean spending your lifetime’s savings. Next stop: Jamaica.

The titles in PINK are the ones I already have, I was sorting through my books yesterday to help clean up my messed up room and was surprised by the number of books I’ve acquired through the years. Store them up in big boxes one on top of the other for the meantime while I don’t have a working book cabinet yet. My uncle asked, if I was planning to convert the house into a public library seeing the number of books I have. Hahahaha silly!!!

Do you have any of the titles above? You can certainly donate them to me they’ll have a home with me or possibly sell them … to help me complete my collection.

I was told that the skin on the face is the most sensitive of all skin parts and that using different facial wash and cleansers can cause long lasting damage to it. Some products who advertise to be able to clean your face of those acne and pimples can even worsen them so when it comes to cleanser and acne treatment one should consult a dermatologist first because what might work on one person doesn’t necessarily guarantee the same effect on another.

Last Thursday I find myself shopping with Momie Lai for books at National Bookstore Ayala … they’re on sale!!! I’ve bought home 7 titles in assortment from Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Jostein Gaarder,Sophie Kinsella and Anne Rice. But that didn’t end there the following day I went to National Book Store SM with Lovely and spent a good amount of monies for books … I’ve completed the Shopaholic Series by now and I only lack one book from Sophie Kinsella, the Undomestic Goddess, I’ve bought two from Anne Rice no make that four (Merrick, Blood Canticle, Blood and Gold and Vittorio the Vampire); I also bought a couple of titles from Booksale … got Junior by Macaulay Culkin for just a hundred and ten bucks compared to its original price of four hundred something at Powerbooks.

So there goes the books (don’t have photos of the other titles I just bought) to add to my collection. My uncle was like … are you trying to turn this house into a public library? … lol … now he gave me an idea. Hahaha.

Then we also bought original DVD’s from Odyssey since they were on sale too. Lol … so there goes my pay.

Next project … a pink psp slim … though am not much of a gamer but I kinda like the idea of having a psp especially one in pink.  So … this would be my next project achievable … in the next uhmmm 2 months? Hopefully.

After switching from one notebook to another, saving photos, documents and music has been mandatory. Now I’ve had several duplicate copies of certain files and images, right now am looking for a duplicate image finder program so that I don’t have to this manually. No wonder my images amounted to close to 500 plus on one folder … there are 2 or 3 duplicates for each picture.  Am sure there are a lot of freeware or shareware applications or programs out there who can do the job, its just a matter of looking. Picture comparison, picture editor should be a good enough keyword to use when going through google.

I have been branded a lot of things/names by different people in the course of my 23 years of existence. From being a geek/nerd, autistic (given I readily switch on and off to my own comfort zone), music addict, loner, brat, home buddy, laagan, etc …

Now Doi became a victim of my eccentricities … sent her an instant message asking for her help. I need her help in buying  Sweet Valley books by Francine Pascal. I know … so old school or so high school.

The book reminds me of my elementary days … RJ used to have a sort of collection though not all and I spent lunch time at her house reading … she lends them to me while she and Rose would watch MTV or play the piano. Sometime back then I made a promise that when the time comes that am old and capable enough to buy what I want … then I’d buy these series … and have a collection of my own.

Doi asked me yesterday what triggered all these, simple … it has always been at the back of my head. Seeing my Harry Potter chest and the Twilight series … it made me realize what I’ve forgotten, laid dormant in the deepest recesses of my memory.

So from Amazon to Ebay and from buying here at National Bookstore and Powerbooks … am on the hunt. The hunt included me bothering Doi hehehe asking her to call Powerbooks and National to ask what they have and the likes. lol.

Any tips, any one of the series you’re willing to sell? or donate??? That’d be great.

There are 17 of us, friends since highschool, now one has gotten married and had her baby (the first) last year and as part of the “barkada” all 16 of us were godmothers and godfathers to Pricilla Minette.

I was not present at her baptism so I made sure that last night (she turned one) I’d be there. So I was and so were the rest of us (not the complete set) but people I haven’t seen in like ages were there.

I don’t really know what godmothers do but as instinct told me, I was s’pose to bring her a gift hehe w/c I didn’t. Oh well … there’s always a next time. Weeeeeeee

Though Christmas is technically over but it doesn’t mean that gift giving or more so gift asking is over. Grrrr … haven’t been able to use yahoo messenger for awhile (I’ve never been much of a chatter) so when I did log in, it was I guess unfortunate of me bec. a friend now based in the states whom I haven’t spoken to for like ages, was online and we chatted for two solid hours straight with voice chats in between. Guess what she asked me for? a heated mattress pads, one that she fancy online and to better put it since I can’t purchase the product myself given that am here and the company only ships within the US. She said that I just send her monies so she can buy it herself. Consider it the gift for the past 3 Christmases that I haven’t sent her any.  Waaaaaaaaaaaa … oh well … we’ll see what I can do.

Wafa lost weight tremendously, I find it amazing. I mean when I started in this LOB am in which was almost a year ago, she was huge. That’s not an exaggeration but she really was big but now she’s exactly what you call thin but she has shed those fats and is just in the right shape. Whew!!! Clothes that no longer fit her a year ago are now part of her wardrobe and she wore them as if nothing has changed. Amazing!! her secret? Well she has always been scouring the net looking for the best diet pill out there basing it on customer’s reviews and the like. She must have found the right one as it works wonders on her.

I noticed these the last few times I went traveling, when you book for your tickets online (they’re cheaper that way) almost at the end of the transaction there’s always that paragraph asking you if you wanna avail of a travel medical insurance which usually cost around a couple hundred bucks. The first time I went out of the country I checked the box at the end of the paragraph agreeing that I’d like to sign up for it. Later, the second time I went out I unchecked it, realizing its a couple hundred bucks which I could use to pay for the accommodation or for food.

Doi and Eds accompanied me to Ayala and SM yesterday to buy this notebook. Despite being awake for close to 24 hours bec. of my asthma I still managed to go there and buy this. Well I need one, the netbook I was using was just not that equipped for what I want it to do. I labeled this temporary bec. as soon as my monies reached the desired amount to get me a new macbook I’ll hand this over to Doi. We’ve already agreed on it and she’s cool with it. So am back to Windows albeit temporarily and I ran into a series of problems long before I even started using it. Grrrrr … but all is fine now … thanks for the fairies who answered my call for help.

It has been a lousy week … or was it just me? Anyways … I hated work, I hated school and I hated the routine I have to go through every single day. Am stuck for the next oh I dunno 6 or 7 months … I still have collectibles at work and that made leaving oh so hard. If I had my way … no I take that back I shouldn’t, musn’t leave yet … I must stick to Plan A. Grrrr….

They always say intervention is better than cure … or was it prevention is cure? Anyways when Leslie said she wants a baby out in the open, her friends said nothing bout what they heard but thought it might be good if they intervene, after all its just a few months before graduation. Or maybe they need to have her sent to the counselors office for good ol counseling. Sometimes friends are annoying when they are at their nosiest but I guess they just mean well, so when Jess was referred for drug rehab it was the friends who knew first then the parents. Drug detoxification was one of the things mentioned apparently the guy has been on prohibited drugs for quite sometime, since he’s parents were always out of town, one trip after the other. Neglected? I guess so but not intentional on the parents side … all they wanted was … I dunno what they wanted. But there it was … he is on rehab, she is on counseling. Imagine what kind of parents they’d make if she were to get pregnant and he was to continue going on what he was doing.

But now they’re both safe I should say, thanks to the annoying, nosy and supportive friends … intervention was injected though albeit late but in place just the same.

While talking to Shane last night, he mentioned that amongst his urgent projects this year is to get himself a set of tire chains. He is also planning to get his dad a set as a birthday present. Big boys and their big toys. lol … am not sure how much this would cost but the guys has been scouring the net for the cheapest he could find. From online shops to amazon and ebay. Hope he finds a good deal.

If all goes well by next month, Momie Cherry, Feme and I might push through with our overdue trip to Kuala Lumpur. Am crossing my fingers that hopefully this time we’ll be able to do it. Was checking for fares and flight scheds last night but am not so positive if I’ll be able to go home in time for my Wednesday class. There doesn’t seem to be any scheds available for Wednesday.  So another vacation for me still in Asia but hopefully if things really go well for me this year I might be able to afford Vegas vacations offered by various travel agencies here, or maybe a trip to Europe. Oh well, am going way over again. Heheh just another wishful thinking.

Succumb!!! That’s the term to describe what’s happening.  I cannot seem to stop craving for a blueberry cheesecake or an oreo cheesecake ; sweets they’re my weakness despite the fact that my tooth has been acting up must be to remind me that not only do I need to loose the extra, too many extra pounds I’ve gained but also to have my teeth checked. Grrr. I’ve been “absent” from the gym for more than a month now … coz of the holidays, the midterm exams and now the festivities. Waaaaaaaaaaa so should I succumb to weight loss pills rampant in the market? Or should I just stick to trying my damnedest in controlling my appetite?

You got that right, am back to Windows … after 4 months of loving and being loved by my macbook I finally set it free. They said if you love something you gotta let it go (lol) so I let it go. We had it reformatted at iStore Ayala (SM held bad memories for me) and gave it to the buyer last night. A friend, colleague and wavemate. I gave it to her real cheap considering all the accesories that I gave along. A 4K crumpler bag, a 2,600 Speck purple case, and a 2K capdase keyboard protector.

Why did I give it up? Many asked … and many concluded that given what they know of my nature … I grew tired of it. lol. Given all that I appeared like a rotten spoiled brat … which I think I partly am. But seriously I gave it up because I want take note I used want and not need … this one below:

Have you heard of the South Beach diet? I have but not extensively from what I’ve heard from gossips and from friends who have tried it at some point that the recipes are kinda expensive. When it comes to dieting I seem to have loads of female friends who are so into it, even though they’re not that large. So the latest gossip I’ve heard is all about the acai berry diet, am not so sure how this works but a close friend of mine is so sold out because of the various testimonials she has seen online. I wonder if they’re all true ..
