The Cooking Girl [Achus! Ahehe]

So I have been trying my luck at cooking ever since I’ve been home bound and I think it was fun, I hate the part where I have to wash the dishes after though. lol Nothing major really just frying and oh I made Mango Float yesterday afternoon and just earlier today I had Bena and Diva sample a huge slice. Hope they liked it. Hehehe

Vitamins

When Stacy got pregnant she was given by her OB a set of prenatal vitamins to take for the entire duration of her pregnancy. It was a long shot but it paid off when she delivered a healthy baby girl. Her pregnancy was rather shaky and they were worried that she might lose the baby. She had to quit work as she gets sick all the time and had to be home bound with the occasional stroll outside. But after 9 months of care and encouragement she gave birth to a healthy baby girl who weighed 8 pounds.

Lie To Me

Lie To Me is a tv series that was recommended to me by a friend back at work. I am now watching it and I love it … really. It’s like Numb3rs where they use Charlie and Math to solve crimes; with Lie To Me they use experts in lie detection to solve crimes.

I look forward to the start of Season 3 just as I am waiting for the start of Season 6 on Supernatural.  Resigning from work definitely gave me all the time in the world to catch up on my movies. lol .

Pink Kitchen Sink

This bubble gum pink kitchen setup is just “kawaii”, and I’d love to have one of my own someday. I was thinking of a multi-colored house meaning the kitchen would be pink, the living room black and white while the dining room a combination of pink and brown. Hehehe I think that’d be nice.

- via google images -

I’ve searched online for Kohler kitchen sinks and found several websites selling them. Some pieces are on sale and others are offered with free shipping.  This brand seems to be one of the leading names in the market and maybe by time I get my own house, they would have kitchen sets in pink. All shades of pink … so I’d have many to choose from.

Weakest Link

Apart from Math and swimming, cooking and everything that goes with it is also one of my many weakest links lol. I had a conversation once with a friend who asked who’s doing all the cooking now that I live alone since mom died. Her eyes went as round as saucers when I told her that in case she has forgotten I lived in the downtown area and there are several fast food chains nearby, one of which happens to be a favorite of mine, Chow King. Her reaction was actually funny and of course if I am lucky I might be able to coerce a friend or two from work to dine with me at a Japanese restaurant or at Big Mao.

I never attempted to learn how to cook that I admit … its just that I don’t get along well with kitchen utensils. Nyahahaha … anyways now that I am unemployed [now feeling the signs poverty creeping in] I encouraged myself to start cooking [if you call frying hotdogs and eggs cooking lol]. So yesterday I cooked corned beef with eggs and onions and by my standards [which is really close to nil] it went rather well. It was edible so I guess that went well.

I have made a promise to myself that from now on I’ll try to avoid fast foods and so long as am at home I’ll cook my own meal. Good luck to me …. many more burnt rice to come. Nyahahaha

To The Father I Never Met … Happy Father’s Day

He died two days after I was born and he was never a good topic for dinner conversations. Let’s just say mom was never comfortable talking about him and I was not one to press on … so to the Dad I never met, Happy Father’s Day wherever you are now.

Japanese Restaurants

This is the setting of one of the Japanese restaurants here in the city and I love the environment. The way the interior of the restaurant is arranged and decorated is just cozy and private, the food is good too. RJ, Rose and I had dinner here when we celebrated my 23rd birthday and it was fun. I look forward to dining again in this restaurant with the same company.

Textbooks Wanted

Now that I am going back to school with the hopes of finishing yet another degree and textbooks are a majority of this are probably not that cheap basing on the course I plan to take on next. Given that  I am not also the type who would settle with secondhand books am placing school books on major costs list. Checked on several book stores already in the area one textbook cost about three to five hundred bucks and I am looking at probably 10 to 12 books not the official list, I added a few of my personal favorite resource books based on the research I have done online.

*sigh* My penchant for school and getting yet another degree buffles my friends and colleagues and it does me at times but hey I love to learn and I am better off reading than dancing at bars.lol

CPA! Congratz Love and oh … Belated Happy Candle Cakes Day

One of my two close friends, the sister am never blessed to have just passed the CPA licensure examination on last May 5′s examination. Whooohooo. It’s just amazing to see her pass knowing that this board examination is pretty tough and that the passing rate with each year tends to be on the small side.

So that’s us with empty plates during her Thanksgiving and B-Day dinner celebration last Sunday, several of our friends are there as well Lovely’s family. It was nice to be able to catch up on friends, dinner was amazing and all except for Lovely head up for a couple of beers and lots and lots of talk.

The Karate Kid

I have been a fan of Mr. Miyagi of the Karate Kid movie franchise and have watched the entire movie franchise including the latest remake. I gotta tell you Jaden Smith is one cute kid and with Jackie Chan taking the “role” of Mr. Miyagi made it a full packed family movie.

The movie house was full with families looking forward to watching the movie and we had a hard time looking for a seat. There were a whole lot of kids and am just thankful that none of them were crying lol.

If you don’t have nothing to do for the weekend then go watch this movie with your family and friends and I tell you it’s worth your time and monies. It’s full of action, comedy and drama perfect for any family to watch.

Numb3rs

Now that am out of work, I finally have the time to watch my tv series and what not. At the moment I am watching Numb3rs still on Season 01. I am overwhelmed I should say, Math has been my weakest link in school and I hate numbers. I couldn’t even add two to three digits in my head at a snap.

So now am watching and I love it … really I look forward to get a hold of the rest of the seasons. If you’re up to shows that would keep your adrenaline going this is it. So am putting my anime on hold for a little while.

Emily The Strange

I am obsessed with everything and anything of Emily the Strange. During my latest trip to Singapore I looked for books of Emily the Strange but all I could find was a comic magazine. During an excursion to Fully Booked I found one last copy of a hard bound Emily the Strange: Stranger and Stranger and readily bought it. Let’s take a look below …

- image via google -

I also made reservations of the other titles as the sales lady mentioned that they will have new arrivals within the week and should the titles I want are included in this ship then they will notify me via text message so I could pick it up. I’m so so so excited … maybe I should change my hair to that of Emily’s …. hmmmm.

Somethings Never Change

- Chillin @ Starbucks -

I took this prolly on my third day in Singapore; somewhere near Sunshine Plaza, ground floor of the Kaplan Building. I was waiting for KKnM to open; by the time I got to Sunshine Plaza it was close to 12 noon and I realized KKnM doesn’t open till 1:30 PM. With nothing to do … I saw my favorite coffee shop back home and decided to take a sip as I watch the “world go by”. I ordered what I always order back home, Signature Hot Chocolate – Venti [see? am an addict lol] and waited … watched and ponder on things I’ve never had time to think about.

Somethings just don’t change wherever I go, seeing Starbucks is like coming home after a stressful day …

Exercise

I have gained tremendous weight during my stay in Singapore and I am at the point where no matter how hard I try on exercising it would probably just do little good. So a friend who is well toned suggested that I aid my exercise with the best weight loss pills available in the market. But knowing how picky pockey I am with drugs and what not I am more than hesitant to give in. Maybe I’ll probably just stick to exercising and dieting for now and hopefully I’d see some results and soon.

Weight Loss

My latest trip has made me gain a whole lot of weight from eating too much heheheh. I love Chinese cuisine way too much to think about weight and dieting. But just recently a friend of mine who was rather serious about dieting more than I am gave me this website, http://www.weightlossproduct.org. She said everything ine needs to know about weight loss is here and that I should check it out. Well see …

Gym Thingies

- image from: http://buzzle.com -

If only I have as much space as I’d like in my home I’d prolly end up buying refurbished fitness equipment so I could just lose weight on my own without having to go to a gym which is pretty much far from where I live. But as luck would have it space is not mine for use and all I have to do is do a search of gyms closer to home to which am not that hopeful.

There are several of these secondhand equipments online which often times if you’re lucky they will be providing free shipping for these equipments.
