Took me awhile to get this posted but last Feb 5, 2011 my friends and I went to UP Grounds to join the Otaku Fest 4.0. I mentioned on my last post that we would be joining the Otaku Fest 2011 but we didn’t make it in time. We didn’t have enough time to our Vampire Knight costumes ready. Anyways we had lots of fun … check out the photos below.

It was my first Otaku Fest and I have to say I had fun. It also made me realize that I am “bloody” old since the anime series that I have grown up watching were not even there. I mean no one dressed up as characters from YuYu Hakusho, Dragon Ball, Flame of Recca, Knight Hunters, Rurouni Kenshin, Fushigi Yuugi, Magic Knights Rayearth, Vision of Escaflowne and Monster Rancher. I saw two who dressed up like Sailor Mars from Sailor Moon … that was quite nice. Hopefully next year we would be able to join even if it means just costripping.
I have been craving for ice cream (bingqilin) for quite some time now and the opportunity to binge in presented itself when my friends and I went to Ayala to have dinner and went to Gelatissimo for dessert. Given the large selection of ice cream flavors we had a hard time deciding. Since there were 4 of us the sales lady suggested we try Gelatissimo’s Coppa Bambino which would give all the flavors in mini scoops, totaling to 32 flavors all in all.
Of the 32 flavors I could only recall about 7 or 8 (lime, choco chip, forest berry, dark chocolate, coconut, melon, and raspberry). We finished the large bowl of ice cream and vowed not to mention the word ice cream to each other in the next couple of days.
My close friends and I are huge anime and manga otaku. Normally the idea of joining a cosplay competition is normal and is expected from otakus like us. There are five of us in the group and according to RJ, “Magic Knights Rayearth” cosplay would be the ultimate for us. But since the UP Otaku Fest is fast approaching we both decided we would go with the Vampire Knight uniforms. Take a look at them below:

This would be my first cosplay event ever and am actually looking forward to it. There was a time when I was in Singapore where there was a cosplay event but I was only a passerby back then. RJ and I would prolly meet up this week to discuss further details of our costume.
I should have posted this sooner but well I got really busy doing other stuff … posting this entry kinda took a back seat. The five of us [me, Rose, RJ, Vince and Jepoy] have been planning to watch Harry Potter together and have dinner in celebration of my birthday last 23rd but since RJ got sick, we had to reschedule. We watched the movie on the 29th, ate at Kublai Khan [its a first for RJ and Vince] and after the movie we had yogurt at Teriyaki Boy. It was a blast, Rose had fun fooling around with my camera and took the pics which means she wasn’t in most of them. Nyahahaha

Teriyaki Boy is located at the second floor level of the Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu and they serve the best yogurt I have ever tasted ever. I look forward to another gathering with the “League of Evil” nyahahaha seriously I have no idea why RJ calls our small rag tag team “League of Evil” … oh well whatever goes I guess. Hehehe
October 8, 2010 – RJ and Vince tied the knot at Consolacion Municipal Hall. The reception took place at Golden Cowrie Lahug, it was an intimate affair attended by family and close friends.

So the shoebox was given to me by Lovely on the Christmas of 1998, we were in our 6th grade, inside the box was the stone and a handmade journal. It was my first ever keepsake box and I have kept it since then. I was going through my stuff when I found it safely tucked away amongst the things mom considered [childhood memories]. It held all of the things I considered precious back when I was 12, letters [from her and RJ], birthday cards [from the rest of Magic 17] and what not.
I was told that the friends you meet in college are the ones who’d be your friends for life … I beg to differ, these two whom I met when I was in the elementary grade are my best friends for life and though we part ways [we did with college] we’d always find our way back.
Back in September before RJ and Vince leave for Cagayan and stay there for over a year the three of us [Rose, RJ and moi] had lunch at Bigby’s in Ayala. we’re sure gonna miss her but then again each of us have to go our separate ways and follow the road that life takes us. For her and Vince [we just adore him too] that’d be spending a year with RJ’s dad in Cagayan as a nurse in one of the public hospitals there while processing their papers for Canada. Meanwhile Rose and I are still in Cebu, though Rose would prolly be leaving for Dubai pretty soon and join her Mom and Dad who are pretty much established there. That’d leave me … alone … again … on my own … in the city I grew up in. *sigh*

So no photos of moi as am the one taking them! Waaaaaaaaa tugs! Anyways, the food was yummy though as usual I was not able to finish up all of mine [this is rather normal so they're used to it]. RJ and Vince are already in Cagayan safe and sound, and we missed her terribly. Thank God for Facebook, YM and IM … communication is just a few clicks away lol.
I pinged RJ about the 3 of us hanging out, lunch and then see a movie. She readily said yes and I asked her to text Lovely about it after a couple of minutes it was confirmed. This was last Tuesday and the date we’ve set was the day after, Wednesday.
So we met at KFC Ayala, had lunch and I finally get to meet RJ’s boyfriend, Vince and talk was flowing. It was decided that we’ll watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen which was shown that day.
It was amazing! The movie theater was jam packed, people were clapping when it ended and boy I love the soundtrack. Gotta grab a copy as soon as it hits the stores.

Never once thought we’d reach this far, lol, from elementary all the way to early adulthood and hopefully till we grow old. This was last Thursday (during my rest day hehehe).

I haven’t been able to log in to Friendster for a couple of days now, seems like someone’s foolin with my account sending spam messages to all my friends. So I changed my password to something I know will never come true. Waaaaaaaa thinking about it made me feel so pathetic!! My besties since grade school … look how grown up we are all now … whew!!! Used to remember playing jackstones and chinese garter with these two. Heheheh … and she knows I adore pink so she’s done it on pink!!!

We started out in grade school and who would have thought our friendship would still be as strong today as it was when we were young.

—- after 6 years of not visiting our alma mater … in a spur of the moment’s decision, the three gathered up despite hectic schedules to reminisce the school grounds and visit old mentors. Who still despite our mischiefs and rebellious ways back then remembered us and cherished our visit.
So after work, I went straight up to Julie’s (omg!!! there were so many changes, I was in awe and the cab driver had to ask whats with the look on my face)an old hunt and there they were … two close friends who put up with my bratilda ways back when we were kids up till now, who made me realize God will always be on my side through the ups and downs, who made me trust in the sincerity of human beings, who made school fun and easy to deal with despite the major difference in our economic status, who despite the separate lives we’ve led since high school graduation never failed to keep in touch and who I know will be my friends for keeps and for life ….
