I have this habit of surfing aimlessly around the web looking for nothing in particular. It is during these times when I would almost always end up finding something. Take for instance yesterday I was just clicking in random various videos in YouTube when I landed on this music video:

Listening to this song made me wanna do two things: learn how to play the drums (that’d be cool) and learn how to play an electric guitar (lol). I have been eyeing this pink Fender Jaguar at a local music store downtown and though I have no idea how to play it, I’ve been thinking that buying it might be a good reason enough to learn how to play it.

Seriously listening to this song … I somehow found myself wishing am some sort of rock star. ^_^

Okay so now am back to taking piano lessons this time with a different school and under the tutelage of a different teacher. So off to piano lessons every weekend and am looking forward to it.

I found a music sheet online a couple of months back and now am printing it to show to my teacher. Being approximately the same age as her its not hard to talk about things and she’s pretty eager to hear the type of songs I wanna learn how to play.

This song was one of the two favorite songs I like from the Lovers in Paris Soundtrack. The title of the song is Lie in English and I find the lyrics (after reading it in English) is quite something. I love it and I am determined to learn how to play this in the piano someday.

I can’t this song off my head and off my playlist. It has been playing nonstop for two days now … and my uncle is going nuts. LOL

Ever since I started my second job I have been able to catch up on my anime series. My second job allows me to watch anime while working, isn’t that great or what? So imagine how many episodes/series I could finish in an 8 hour shift per day. Anyways as of the moment I am watching Darker Than Black and got captivated with the piano piece composed by Yoko Kanno entitled Yin no Piano. It’s very soothing. Here listen to it …

I first heard this song when watching the movie “Love Wrecked” which stars Amanda Bynes and  Jonathan Bennett. The song was part of the official soundtrack and if memory serves me right the song was played near the end of the movie. I have placed this song on my Sweetest Symphony play list as it most definitely is a very sweet song. Let’s watch the video below:

I have always loved Chris Carrabba of Dashboard Confessional ever since I heard “Screaming Infidelities”  and “Vindicated”. Now the band has come out with a new album, “Alter the Ending” and I absolutely love it … nothing but the best from the guys. My favorite from the album is “Belle of the Boulevard” both the original and acoustic versions are awesome. Try listening to it …

I cannot get this song off my head. Ever since I saw “Drive Me Crazy” starring Melissa Joan Hart and Adrian Grenier, that song was played on a bar scene and it took me what seemed like a month to find out what the title was and who sang it. It even seemed like forever to download the song online.

Up until now I still cannot find the lyrics online but I am able to download the entire album “Somewhere Over the Radio” by Deadstar. I love it and wished they haven’t disbanded, it would be great to hear new albums from them.

I have seen the 2004 movie starring Gerard Butler as Erik, Emmy Rossum as Christine and Patrick Wilson as Raoul on the big screen and bought the DVD copy of it as well … I just finished watching it for the nth time and it still makes me teary-eyed.  I have been obsessed with this theatrical piece ever since I can remember, I have not read the original by Gaston Leroux but has read “The Phantom” by Susan Kaye over and over, I love it. So when the 2004 rendition came to the big screen I was very excited.  This part gives me the chill every time I watch it …

Here’s a stunning tv performance of the song “All I Ask Of You” by Emmy Rossum and Patrick Wilson, I find it amazing how calm he looks while singing … and Emmy is just … perfect! I love them both.

Hopefully one day I’d be able to watch it on stage … *sigh* what I’d give to be able to do that now, I know you might think am the emo/goth/rock chick but I do have a flair for Broadway and the musicals, this being just one of ‘em.

The Phantom of the Opera reminds me of Belle and the Beast the major difference is it had a happy ending and they live happily ever after … but then The Phantom of the Opera won’t be as dramatic, as haunting, as tragic as it is if Christine chose Erik now would it? … *sigh*

This rendition of the song “Phantom of the Opera” by the Finnish band Nightwish, old Nightwish that is with Tarja Turunen on the lead vocals is an absolute favorite of mine … I love it more than the Sarah Brightman and Antonio Bandera’s version. When they kicked her out and replaced her with Anette Olzon, the band declared that they will never play this song live ever again and I can imagine why. It wouldn’t sound right if Tarja’s not singing it. Her voice is just powerful.

Lets just say am one of the many fans who love old Nightwish more than the new one. These guys rock!

Does he look familiar? If you’re already a teenager during the early 90′s and you love alternative rock music then am sure you’ll recognize him. But for those who doesn’t then that’s Dave Pirner, lead vocalist of Soul Asylum. That pic was taken prolly when he was in his late 20′s if my calculations right he’s prolly 45 years old at the moment.

Don’t get me wrong am not that old, when the band released their double platinum album, Grave Dancer’s Union in 1992 which contains Runaway Train (one of my faves) I was still 7 years old.

What can I say, I have a thing for guys with long messy hair … plus with his voice … that’s absolute big crush material.

Bowling For Soup is scheduled to release their seventh studio album this September 29th and the song “My Wena” is the first single off the album. The band is still at its finest for double entendres without watching the video you’d probably think they’re singing about a certain girl but boy you’re dead wrong.  I find it down right hilarious and I’ll never think of my petname as just a normal petname. Good thing some of my friends call me Weng …  am definitely nobody’s weiner … lol.

The music video’s in youtube though it has been flagged inappropriate by the community users not only because of the lyrics but because of the video itself, but hey … am sure YOU’RE way legal to watch it lol.

David and I seldom have this time to talk on the floor what with our schedules but I did manage to have a short chit chat with him and as usual it all revolves around music. Told him NIN would be playing live at the Araneta Coliseum this August and like me and every other music addict out there he wants to go too. Anyways he told me he found this cool album entitled Pop Goes Punk … its a compilation of punk artists doing several covers of pop hit songs. Saw the volume 2 cd as one of the best buy finds at www.buy.com question is do they ship here.

Finally!!! Great solid rock bands coming to PI. Saw this while checking out the band’s site and they’re rocking the crowd on the 5th of August at the Araneta Coliseum and I cannot efffin go on leave. Grrrrrrrrr …. of all times to be on the loser side of the coin.

To satisfy my love for music not only to do I keep a mounting amount of music files on my notebook to which I listed to when I am at home. I’ve had several types of mp3 players, only 2 topped the list: the Zen Creative Player and my recent one, a 32gig iPod Touch which I have had since December of last year and boy I love it.

Mitchy, Aisat and I dined at Big Mao which was overlooking the stage built on the Terraces for John Veseley’s concert. The whole place was packed with people and since we were inside we only heard him sing. Was not able to take pictures but was only able to catch a glimpse of him from a far. *sigh*

He sang if am not mistaken around 3 to 4 songs only but it was worth it. I love the voice, the lyrics and of course the man behind it. Weeeeeee.

John Vesely better known as the person behind Secondhand Serenade is coming to Cebu!!! Wooohoooo!!! You got that right, he’d be serenading his audience at the Terraces come March 31, 2009, 7PM @ the Terraces in Ayala Cebu and the tickets were all sold out. Unbelievable. Anyways, I guess I’ll be listening and watching from the sidelines. Weeeeee So excited here.

Went on half day at work. Dio and Boss Ger have been pretty understanding … must be bec. of  the seriousness on my face when I approached them. A year ago mom passed away, a year ago I cried like a baby, a year ago I hurt and still am for her passing, a year ago I lost my balance, my purpose, my reason for living.

Momie Lai asked how I was, I said I dunno … she asked, are you coping? I said … am pretending to and I think am doing a very good job. Why bother the people around me with my pain? She said she’s glad am pretending coz at times it made it easier for others … but was it any easier for me? She didn’t ask.

Spent the entire afternoon at the cemetery performing the rituals required of my lineage. There I was a year after and I thought I’d be any better … I swore I’d be better and stronger … but it felt like I was back at square one. No sense of balance, no sense of purpose … like an automaton following the rigors of a hidden program.

RJ offered to accompany me, so she can visit mom too. I said maybe next time … but on this date, I prefer to dance to the music alone. My pain, my loneliness, my bitterness for taking her away they’re all mine … I don’t want her to see that, for like everyone else she hoped that am moving on … she might see behind the facade and am afraid I’d crumble then and there.

And just like a year ago … here I am crying for what I lost, for what was and for what will never be. What I would give just to her back … safe, healthy and happy.

So I was sleeping in the lounge when around 11PM I was awakened by some music, possibly someone’s alarm, the song has the words posted above and it doesn’t seem to continue playing to the next lines. It repeatedly played those lines over and over and it must have been repeating for the 3rd time before the owner woke up and shut it down. Whew!!!

Thats not the end, on the jeepney ride on my way home a fellow passenger who somehow looked like a wannabee gangsta was fooling around with his phone when all of a sudden the same song (the one in the lounge) played. Being the curious me I asked him what’s the title and he answered readily Hey Mama … one of the many Kanye West Ringtones he has. Waaaaahhh certainly a fan!! Well at least that solved the mysterious last song syndrome I’ve had all day.

I went out with a friend to accompany her with some shopping responsibilities, hehe. I really didn’t want to go out since I still had a lot to do in order to update some things but she was really persistent. Out of good will (and a little bribery), I a joined her in her quest for good finds so we went to the mall. At least the mall had just opened when we got there because I don’t want to wait for even a few more minutes to get business going, she knows how impatient I can get when things get delayed.

We passed by some designer shops which were classy, she told me she was going to give her aunt something because she received a gift from her as well. She made me guess what but since I was too tired to even think about gifts and things she gave me clue instead.

She told me that she’s going to watch a concert of one of the major pop icons of all time. After some more probing, she told me that the one that’s been playing in the shop is the artist that she’s going to get ready for. In the background, it was Madonna and Justin Timberlake’s hit “4 minutes” was playing. I was in total shock and she laughed at the expression on my face on how surprised I was.

She’s preparing for a trip in the United Kingdom since her aunt purchased some Madonna Tickets Cardiff. I said “Wow”, I couldn’t get believe she purchased some Madonna Tickets and actually get to see her perform live. I asked her how she was able to get some passes and she told me her aunt had some good connections to get at least a place near the stage. Madonna Tickets London is still available and she even wanted me to join but I couldn’t as I still have to prepare a trip in Thailand; which I’m also excited about.

Well, that’s that, she’ll be gone for a week whereas my unpaid leave was already approved. I’m hoping that everything turns out fine and goes out smoothly. This is another chance for us to explore the world and satisfy our craving for traveling.  I’m sure that when we get back from our destinations, we’ll have a whole load of stories (not to mention pictures) to share. I’m already excited just thinking about it.
